I'll feel like I'm doing well, being self confident and doing my thing when suddenly someone (usually someone who is very busy and seemingly more successful than me) doesn't acknowledge me or I realise I am more "into" them than they are to me and my insecurity rears its ugly head. I guess it brings up some nasty feelings from my early teens. There's another thing to add to "Ash's list of things to discuss with her counsellor"... Any who.. I think, finding that point where you can relax into yourself, and just let yourself gravitate towards the Right people, is the point of self actualisation. I loved it when I no longer needed people to validate me - it came more from within. I don't know if writing can ever truly reflect how silly I am, that's something people learn when they meet me, and I worry about that. That people may take seriously something I meant in jest and with a great big smile.

There have been a few friends I've just had to let go. You're right, you reach a point in your life when you become wise enough and brave enough to stop chasing people who aren't good enough for you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1720872153813357167.post-75247294877526047452013-07-22T08:12:17.011+10:002013-07-22T08:12:17.011+10:00You know Carly, I think almost everyone has to lea...You know Carly, I think almost everyone has to learn this lesson. There are precious few people in our world who don't chase after someone they shouldn't... and get emotionally injured in the process. It's happened to me, to those I love, to my kids. Took me til I was about 30 to 'get it'. I borrowed shared this quote after you put it on Facebook - it got about 20 shares... do you know who the author is?BBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14985371070644061676noreply@blogger.com
