Plenty of people in challenging Circumstances by themselves are not inspiring ( eg think of looters during trouble as opposed to a poverty stricken person sharing their meager rations with their neighbours during the same time.)willywagtailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04161501326916060091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1720872153813357167.post-42020611790476417172017-02-07T10:43:36.535+11:002017-02-07T10:43:36.535+11:00Thank you for making the time and effort to resear...Thank you for making the time and effort to research and write on what is a deep, complex, and personal issue. It makes me reflect about something I have thought a lot about : what makes certain people a source of inspiration to others ? I find Nelson Mandela absolutely inspirational, Nic Vujicic too, and Mrs Boeckx my history-teacher. I'm not particularly inspired by Bethany Hamilton, though I always wonder how anyone can remain upright on a surfing board - nor do I admire Husain Bolt because I don't care much about running. What I'm trying to say is : it's okay for anyone to inspire other people if "anyone" has done or said something really helpful, right ? whether they are disabled or not... I absolutely agree with you that doing ordinary things like shopping cannot qualify as "inspirational" just because you happen to do it in a wheelchair (though it can be challenging!) - but if you don't want to be considered a source of inspiration when you are writing blogs, winning olympic medals or giving pep-talks (with or without disabilities) then you should stay in bed, right ?! ... Anyway, that's how I feel about it! ikkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05966871786821331805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1720872153813357167.post-48061127551367914842017-02-06T04:55:52.455+11:002017-02-06T04:55:52.455+11:00This was a great, challenging read.
